At work we have a web blocker so that we can’t view things like game sites, porn, videos, etc. Understandable, although I get annoyed on the video part since sometimes it may be a video I actually want to watch for work (i.e. medical video for educational content). Okay, maybe I’m full of shit on that one, but the possibility is there.
Today with a little extra time on my hands after having a heated discussion at work with some Psychiatrists about how they think Tom Cruise is acting Manic (in the clinical sense), I decided to peruse the web for scientology.
Guess what? Our web blocker, WebWasher, doesn’t think it’s apppropriate for me to go to the Official Church of Scientology site. But I had no problem going to the Catholic websites. Hmm… I don’t know whether I’m furious at the selective blocking or secretly pleased that it had the good sense to treat the Scientology site like Entertainment/multimedia/porn/garbage.
How funny! We were just looking at the Scientology site….what it doesn’t tell you is the core belief that we are all full of dead space aliens that came to this planet 75 million years ago. Sound funny…well Ronnie Hubbard was a science fiction writer! Although, if that is what you believe and it gets you through the day to day then more power to you!
Yeah yeah, Scientologists, bla bla bla. The real question is: does it block the Church of the Uber Nixon site? I’ve been wracking my brain recently, trying to figure out this cult has so spectacularly underperformed the expectations I had for it when I started it. I was expecting to be rolling in the money of slavishly dedicated, sychophantic followers by now. Instead, bupkus! But if this is because we have been surreptitiously blocked from reaching millions of potential followers, then The Man’s role in this plot becomes clear.

Ritalin can also be good if you are doing a long carride and just want to stay awake and focus. Can’t knock that. 🙂
Honestly, I agree with Aaron’s comments. There are some kids that just need to shape up and then there are some that can benefit. I definitely know some adults who can benefit from ADD meds. You can’t imagine.
