On the episode where Buffy hears what people are thinking, she is the only one that is always saying just what she is thinking. I love it.

Am I to believe that that coma she is in is permanent, that she’s effectively been killed off? What gives?

As for tact: I tend to agree with Cordelia, though I think what is more interesting is that her response reveals a little something about the writing in the Whedonverse. It was easy early on to dismiss Cordelia as a stereotypical cheerleading/bimbo type. But the fact is that statements like this actually hint at a deeper intelligence, which really came out in Angel as she matured and mellowed. Season 2, though: the wheels were already in motion.
