The Mayor in Season 3 tells Angelus not to kill Buffy because we don’t need another slayer running around here any time soon because she may not turn out as well as Faith did. So, this is first real inconsistency I’ve found. Unless we just assume the mayor doesn’t understand the process.

You only have one strain of slayers. Once Buffy died the first time, then Kendra was called. But it is assumed a dead slayer stays dead so when she died a second time Kendra had already been called the line followed her. Thus, when Kendra died, Faith was called. So we won’t have another new one until Faith dies. Still, then which of all the new ones would be called.

Also, to OUR Kendra, I now remember her saying her watcher had died (which goes along with the movie) so you are right that she already knew. Good call.

Of course, we only saw the english speaking ones….

From what I understand, Buffy already knew she was a slayer. She found out from a watcher in L.A. before she moved to Sunnydale. What really bothers me is, how do the watchers know which girl was actually chosen to be the slayer?
-k.

It seemed pretty straightforward to me — and there were only a few dozen potentials from all over the world. Not too many, in my estimation.

My one big question in this regard was, though, how come a third slayer never came when Buffy died the second time ’round? I think they addressed it briefly, but never to my satisfaction.
