Katie- I think it’s the luck of the draw in regards to which kids get spoiled. Since your family has a set of twins and one younger child, you’ll always get the shaft. Once you hit 25, I think they need to rotate the shitty totem pole position cyclically amongst the kids. My family has always a penchant for boys and for the youngest child,who,let’s face it, in this day and age of 2.5 kids, will remain so. revolt!

Hey there fellow youngest sibling in a military fam. Are you staying at one of the military beach cabins? There’s a really nice one at the end of the beach at Barber’s Point that has lotsa beds. Perhaps you’ll get that one. You could always sleep on the sand, that way you can mold your “bed” to whatever shape feels most comfy. Have fun!

You should realize Katie that the real reason that you were made to sit in the middle on the long car rides is to make sure that Marie and I didn’t kill each other! (And as for sleeping on the floor..I recall an annoying little bratty sister that INSISTED on sleeping on the floor of my room when we were growing up.) 🙂

One of the corrections officers in the internal investigations unit who shares an office with me, is in Hawaii with his family for thanksgiving week, too. Get this, he graduated from Sehome High in B’ham and is staying in military housing in Hawaii as well.

I’ll be anxious to hear what you thought of the tropical islands. You might not read this until you get back but if you do and you have a chance, go hiking. I wanted to very much when I was there. The mountains are cool! Let me know.
